Regional Facts A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy. In alliance with Japan during World War II, Thailand became a US ally following the conflict. |

Eden House Misinstry Home of the Open Heart
|
Eden House is dedicated to extracting young girls from extreme "at risk" situations. Most of the girls are Ahka, which is a hill tribe group in the north of Thailand. This group is considered to be of the lowest "caste" by many of the people in Thailand. The Garden of Eden was a sanctuary for God's children. Eden House - Chiang Rai, is also based on the same idea.
The next construction project is to build on-site staff housing which consists of four-two bedroom apartments using a new type of colored cement block which never needs to be painted. It has been used in this area for about nine months and the masons that have volunteered with us could be taught in a couple of days how to build with it. Masons are what we would need first and then a couple of plumbers, electricians and welders. The goal - to raise a team to go help! If you are interested in going to Chiang Rai to help, or would like to help lead/organize the team, please contact the MBI Office immediately.

Home of the Open Heart The construction on the first baby home has been completed! We prayed together that the funds would come in and it was great for all of us to see them come in. God is faithful. Upon completion of the home, we have temporarily moved the kindergarten into two of the bedrooms. The children are now having kindergarten there and they will move in as soon as curtains and furniture are set up. |
